Joan Brown and I went to the opening ceremony of the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall in Wildwood this afternoon. It was a heart-felt program and was attended by a large crowd. The names of two friends are on that wall: my childhood neighbor from Brattleboro, Vermont, Johnny Blake and my high school friend and co-captain of the football team, Russ Garrison. 22 guys from Cape May county, NJ, did not make it out of Vietnam alive and were honored today at the ceremony, but also honored forever on the Memorial Wall.
